Directions:

*****We are located in South Western Pennsylvania. *****

Use a map program and look up West Alexander PA (15376). This will get you to within a few miles of the farm and I will give you the exact directions a few days before your visit along with contact information because the map programs seem to fall apart for those last few miles. My directions will start from  (exit 1 off I-70) West Alexander.

Prices are as indicated and are not subject to negotiation.

I understand not everyone wants show animals, and I will work very hard to match the buyer to the right animal for their needs. I strongly encourage wethers for beginners as they are a cheap start into goats and are great to find out what the animals are really like before jumping in with both feet. I don't recommend large starter herds as they are immediate work and unless you are experienced with livestock, it can be an expensive nightmare. I think good quality, mid priced goats are best for the average beginner.  You must have at least two goats as they are herd animals, but I think a nice start is 3-5 animals.

Terms of Sale:

Reservations are non-refundable.

50% of the total sale is required to hold goats once they are born.  NO GOAT IS CONSIDERED SOLD TILL A DEPOSIT IS RECEIVED! I will mark the goat as pending once I am notified that a deposit has been sent. A verbal statement of desire to buy the goat that is not followed immediately by a deposit is considered window shopping and if another buyer wants the same animal and sends a deposit, the person who sent the deposit first will be the new owner of the goat.

Health certificates are the responsibility of the buyer. Any testing required or desired is the responsibility of the buyer. Use of a transporter is the responsibility of the buyer.

Bucks/Wethers 2010

Nubian bottle baby, gray brown with white ears. Born 1-20-10. Pet or scrub goat (bad bite) $10

(picture coming)

***********

(I will wether most bucks on request. Wether price is $75 each)

All bucks and wethers sold for 2009, taking requests for spring 2010.

Does-2010

I have a few goats for sale not listed as well as the ones below.

Lovely registered brown yearling doe. She is holding her color well and has nice lock and dense fleece. She has a nice straight topline and very good coverage. This is an excellent all around doe that I feel  would do very well in the ring.

Dam is Phoenix (her dam won R.CH. doe at SAFF) She was also shown

Sire is Tejus. Tejus won Supreme Champion At Nevada MO and second CAGBA National kid

 $500

Available in spring

Yearling does:

Spirit, Siren and Jubilee (I'll get pictures of these girls in fleece before I shear). There are kid pictures on the jr. doe page.  The sire to all three was Wilber. All three are medium red brown with very soft tight  dense locks. They are very nice does. $400 each.

Jubilee's dam Joy is one of the best in the herd and won Supreme Ch. at SAFF and placed 1rst in her class at NJ. Wilber the sire did very well in the ring and was a big, dark red buck with so much presence he always stood out in the class. Jubilee represents some of my very best breeding.

2 year old does:

Ophelia is a registered red doe with some frosting on her ears. Her dam was a powerful doe  (Paddy) with incredibly soft fleece. Her sire (Tejus) was an excellent show buck that was big, powerful and a real show stopper.  Ophelia lost her dam before weaning and I think is smaller because of it (she was old enough that she did not take readily to the bottle and though she did get the hang of it, I think it cost her some size, so while she is only medium sized, I think her genetic potential may be for a bigger goat) She will be sold after she kids in the spring, so she will be proven. $375

Luca:

Medium brown well covered doe. Has very dark goats in pedigree and should produce exceptional color. Will be sold after kidding.

Sire: Tejus

Dam: Violet

There may be a couple more two year olds for sale after kidding as well.

Allanise: red two year old registered doe. Very soft, uniform fleece in tight ringlets. This yearling is one of the biggest of our 2008 kids. She has beautiful coverage and wide horns and a straight back with good length through the body. A truly lovely show quality animal. $495

Dam: Ginger

Sire: Tejus

she will be available after kidding

$550 bred to a chocolate jack for 2010 foal

Chocolate jack. Smaller donkey that is friendly to people, but not good with smaller stock. Should be gelded if you intend to keep him with smaller animals. Gets along well with horses. $150(OBO) or if local to West Alexander am willing to give you the jack (free) if you allow me to use him for breeding my herd.

Can you make money on goats? This is a question that I am sure all producers are frequently asked. I have always tried to answer that question truthfully. This link will explain the answer. This is a Boer site, but the information applies to all livestock. http://whitehousegoats.com/money.html

General sales information

Package deals are only offered on groups of 5 or more goats. Please do not ask for any discount for less than 5 goats as I have put a lot of money and work into this herd and always try to keep my prices fair.

The average price I have paid for my breeding stock is $500 + and I have paid a great deal more for some of the special animals here.  Our herd originated from some of the best colored and AAGBA herds in the country. We are very particular in our own purchases. We try very hard to offer superior quality at a very good price to our customers.

There is no 4-H discount for breeding animals, however, I do offer special 4-H offers on wethers, so if you are in 4-H and would like to buy a wether, please email me about the details.

Repeat customers in good standing are offered preference

Lavender Hill Farm: TERMS / CONDITIONS OF SALES AGREEMENT. KID PRE-ORDER RESERVATION INFO FOR GOATS.

I want everyone to be very happy with their goat purchase and be completely satisfied with the sales transaction. My goal is to produce healthy high quality goats for pets, breeding, or show.
That being said, the terms and conditions of sales, and the kid pre-order reservation info below are to protect me (the seller) and you (the buyer). This is a standard terms of sales agreement for a goat purchase. Please review this entire page of terms, conditions and policies, and of course, not reading the terms, conditions, and policies is not an excuse.

1) PLACING A GOAT ON HOLD: I allow a potential buyer two days from the time they contact me about a particular goat that is for sale to decide if they like that goat, and want to put it on hold. This is to be fair, because I often have a back up list of people wanting to buy the same goat, who are waiting to know what the first person decides. After those two days, I will contact the second person in line, and allow them to have a chance to place the goat on hold.

2) DEPOSIT: Of half the price of the animal will reserve the animal of your choice, if the goat is not yet old enough to leave his / her mother, or it will take you some time to pick up your goat. An e-mailed receipt of that deposit will not only secure the reservation of the animal you choose, but also acts as implied consent on your behalf to comply with these terms. If your deposit is to be mailed to me, please inform me of when you send it. I allow 7 days (from the time you agreed either verbally or in E-mail to buy the goat) for the deposit to come in the mail. If at the end of the 7 days I do not receive a deposit, the goat will be put back up for sale. I will contact you to let you know when I receive your deposit. All money is non-refundable, except for the reasons listed in # 5 below. When I receive your deposit for a goat, I will mark it as "ON HOLD" on the website. If all of my goats are sold or on hold, then other people can put their name on a backup list to buy a goat, in case any end up not being paid for in full, or not picked up on time. If the goat is old enough to go home that same day, you will not need to put a deposit on it, you need to pay for it in full and take it home that day. If you are from out of town and cannot get here for a while, then you will need to send a deposit in the mail and make arrangements to pick the goat up in a timely manner (by the next weekend), or there will be a boarding fee of $2.00 a day on animals that are old enough to go home. No agreements I have made with the buyer are final until all fees are paid in full, and the goat has gone to its new home. If you choose to send in a deposit, please also give me your full name, phone #, and mailing address. Include your e-mail address with the deposit when it is sent in the mail. If any of your contact information changes before you receive your kid, please make sure and let me know in case I need to contact you. None of your information will be shared.

Please note: to have a buck wethered (castrated) you must pay in full first; I will not wether a buck if you have only made a deposit.

3) PAYMENT: Must be in "guaranteed funds": cash, money order etc. If you use a personal check, the animal must stay with me until the check clears, and then you may pick up your animal. Or, if prior arrangements are agreed upon then you can pick up your animal. An animal is not reserved until half the amount due is paid for, and is not bought until paid in full. Goats are first come first serve! Anyone may buy the goat you are interested in until you make a deposit. I do not mark a goat as "SOLD" on my website until you have paid in full.

4) BALANCE/PICKUP: If you have not paid in full before picking up the animal, then the remainder of the money that is owed is due at time of pick up. At the time of pick up, you cannot pay with a check! PLEASE NOTE: If the balance is not received by the date we have set for pickup, the animals will be offered to the next interested party & your deposit will be forfeited. If animals are not picked up the weekend after the date they are old enough to leave, a boarding fee of $2.00 a day will be applied after that time. Any & all “outstanding monies” must be satisfied prior to the animal leaving my farm. Please be advised that there will be no refunds on canceled orders. If the goat is not picked up by 8 PM on the date we have agreed on, it will be sold to the next person in line. There will be no refunds made to the person who didn't pick up their goat on time. Sorry, I do not deliver, partially deliver, or ship my goats. The buyer must make arrangements to pick them up.

5) REFUNDS: There are five ways that a deposit on a goat may be refunded: 1) In the sad event that the goat you placed a deposit on should pass away or becomes very ill, you may decide to receive a refund, or place your deposit on another available animal, or roll your deposit over to the following kidding season. Note* If the goat you reserved as your 1st choice, for any reason is no longer available, your deposit can be applied to another available animal of the same or lesser value with any extra money being refunded. 2) I reserve the right to retain (keep) any kid as I see fit. Sometimes I can't always tell at a young age which kids I would like to keep, and may change my mind once they are older. I always try to decide before I allow anyone to place a deposit on a kid, although I do have the right to change my mind up until the kid has left my property. If this happens, you may choose to apply your deposit to another available kid, or your deposit can be refunded, or rolled over to the next kidding season. 3) I reserve the right to refuse to sell a goat to anyone as I see fit, even if they already have a Kid Pre-Order, or a deposit on a goat. In this case, you may receive a refund, depending on the circumstances. 4) For Kid Pre-Order Reservations: If you have a reservation for a show / breeding quality kid, although there are none born that season, or the one you choose turns out to be pet quality, than you may choose to place your deposit on another available kid, or receive a refund, or roll your deposit over to the next kidding season. 5) For Kid Pre-Order Reservations: If I do not have the gender of goat that you reserved available for sale by the end of that kidding season, and you do not wish to roll your reservation over to the next kidding season, then you can ask to receive your deposit back.

Although, if YOU cancel your deposit or reservation for any reason, you will not be refunded for any amount! If you should decide to cancel your deposit, you can not choose to change your mind later and "un-cancel" it. A new deposit will need to be paid for, if you want another reservation in the future.

6) RETURNS: ALL SALES ARE FINALE. Since I cannot possibly have any control over how animals are managed once leaving my possession, it will also be understood that upon the animal leaving this property, all liabilities & responsibilities for the animal immediately transfer to the buyer. I will not take any animal back, because I cannot be sure that it has not come in contact with diseases while away from my farm. I do not guarantee that a purchaser will like an animal they purchase from me. An animal represents a potential. Should the buyer be unable to keep the animal, then they need to look for a new home for the animal to be adopted into. ONCE A GOAT LEAVES OUR FARM, THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS.

7) NOT GUARANTEED: I cannot guarantee how large an animal will grow to be. I cannot guarantee how much milk a goat will produce. I cannot guarantee that a goat will not grow scurs (small horn growths). I cannot guarantee the future health of the goat. I cannot guarantee the goat will be of show quality. Some of these things depend on how you care for your animals. If height and show quality are a huge concern to you, than you might want to consider buying an adult goat so you will already know what they will look like.

8) MY RIGHTS: I feel the need to enforce these "rights" to keep things polite, and orderly. (1) I reserve the right to refuse to sell to anyone as I see fit. 2) I reserve the right to refund the money to someone who has reserved or bought a goat from me, and keep the goat for myself, for any reason that I want. 3) I am not obligated to take an animal back from you if you no longer want it. 4) I am not obligated to give you a refund on an order, reservation, or deposit that you cancel. 5) I reserve the right to re-sale any animal that is not paid for in full on time, and I am not obligated to return any deposits or "monies" that had been paid for on that animal. 6) I reserve the right to re-sale any animal that is not picked up on the agreed upon date, and no refunds will be given for any "monies" paid for on that goat. 7) I reserve the right to charge a boarding fee for goats that are not picked up in a timely manner. 8) I reserve the right to only accept guaranteed funds, (I prefer cash) at time of pick-up. No personal checks, unless they are mailed ahead of time please. 9) I reserve the right to humanely euthanize an animal that I believe is suffering, even if there is a reservation placed on that animal. You will receive a refund in a sad situation like this, or can place your deposit on another available animal.

9) GOAT REGISTRATION OR APPLICATION PAPERS: Each goat that is sold as "registered" will either be sold with registration papers, which the buyer will need to pay the fee to have the goat transferred into their name... Or the goat will come with their registration application papers, and the buyer will need to pay to have the goat registered and have the goat transferred into their name. Usually adult goats are already registered and will only need to be transferred into the new owner's name. Depending on the age of the goat kid, it will usually just have its registration application papers which you will need to send in to have the goat registered. Goats that are already registered cannot have their names changed. The new owner will choose the name of their goat if it only comes with application papers.

10) BREEDING SERVICES: At this time, for the health and safety of my goats, I do not offer breeding / stud services.

11) GOAT DELIVERY AND SHIPPING: I do not transport goats. Goats must either be picked up at the farm by the buyer or transport must be arranged for a third party to pick up goats from the farm. Transport costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Young bottle babies may be shipped by air and I will deliver those kids to the airport but all shipping costs and vet cost are the responsibility of the buyer.

12) EXPORTING GOATS: I do not ship goats out of the U.S.

*NOTICES*

If you are placing a Kid Pre-Order Reservation, than please read #13 below.

Average prices of my goats are listed on my sales page.

Ask to be Added to My E-mail Notification List of Birthing Updates and Goats For Sale, or Place a Reservation on a Future Kid!

Although I do enjoy visitors, for the health and safety of my animals I must limit ranch visits to buyers only. Access to the farm is strictly limited to areas not occupied by the animals to avoid any accidental transference of disease from outside sources. (you may view the animals from outside the fences)

All pictures are the property of Lavender Hill Farm. They are not to be copied or reused in any fashion, without the permission of Lavender Hill Farm first.

Lavender Hill Farm's TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALES AGREEMENT AND KID PRE-ORDER RESERVATION INFO FOR GOATS, is subject to change at anytime without notice!

When contacting me about my goats please put the word "Goat" or something obvious in the subject line, and do not write in capitals so your E-mail is not confused with Spam mail. Please write me back if you don't hear from me within three days. Thank you!

13) KID PRE-ORDER RESERVATIONS: A $25 deposit is required to reserve a place in line for an un-born kid, (pre-orders). This money goes towards the total purchase price of the goat. Reservations are taken by the order that the checks are received in the mail. You may place a deposit on the specific gender that you want, such as a buckling, wether, or doeling. You'll also need to specify whether you want a pet or breeding quality goat.

When a kid becomes available for sale, I will place their picture on my website and notify the first person on the reservation list that there is a kid available to look at. That person has first choice to buy that kid, or pass on it and wait for a goat from another kidding that they like better. The potential buyer has two days after being notified to make a final decision about buying the kid. If they choose not to take the kid, than I will contact the second person on the reservation list, and they will have two days to decide if they would like the kid... and so on down the list. If there are multiple kids available at the same time, than the first person on the list will get to make their decision first, and have the "pick of the litter". If several does are due to kid around the same time, than I try to wait to put the kids' photos on the website until after all, or most of the does have kidded. I want everyone to be happy with their purchase, and not feel like they have to take a goat just because they were notified of an animal becoming available. You may pass up on any kid, to wait for another one, if desired. If a kid is not born that year that you like, than your reservation can be rolled over to the next season. Everyone who chooses to roll over to the next season will stay in the same position in line that they ended at in the previous season.

The ways that a Pre Order Reservation may be refunded are: (Please read # 5 about refunds after kids have been born.)      1) I reserve the right to refuse to sell a goat to anyone as I see fit, even if they already have a reservation or deposit on a goat. In this case, you may receive a refund, depending on the circumstances. 2) For Kid Pre-Order Reservations: If you have a reservation for a show / breeding quality kid, although there are none born that season, or the one you choose turns out to be pet quality, than you may choose to place your reservation on another available kid, or receive a refund, or roll your reservation over to the next kidding season. 3) For Kid Pre-Order Reservations: If I do not have the gender of goat that you reserved available for sale by the end of that kidding season, and you do not wish to roll your reservation over to the next kidding season, then you can ask to receive your reservation deposit back. Although, if YOU cancel your kid pre order reservation for any reason, you will not be refunded your $25 pre-order deposit, or any amount that you have paid. After deciding to cancel your pre-order deposit, you cannot choose to change your mind later. A new deposit will need to be paid for, if you want another reservation in the future.

It is possible that there could end up being a kid born that I feel should only go to a specific type of home. This might be a special needs kid, or any goat that I decide should. In this case, I might choose to pass by some people with reservations that are first in line, to offer the kid to a home that suits the goat best. People who have reservations for a pet quality goat, and people with reservations for breeding quality stock are considered to be on two different Pre-Order reservation lists. Someone wanting breeding stock will never be offered a pet quality goat to buy. Pet buyer's may buy a breeding quality goat, IF I choose to offer it as a pet. I am under no obligation to sell my breeding quality stock as a pet wether or pet doe, I may choose to offer it for sale as a breeding animal only, even if all of my current reservations are for pet does and wethers. (This would most likely be very rare).

If you choose to send in a deposit for a kid pre order reservation, please also give me your full name, phone #, and mailing address. Include your e-mail address with the deposit that is sent in the mail. If any of this contact information changes before you receive your kid, please make sure and let me know in case I need to refund your money, or contact you. None of this information will be shared.
